cellphone drop into toilet, don’t flush!(help?)

I wish my cellphone was that waterproof. The thing is it dropped into toilet (yea I know eww but it was clean what did ya think? ;p) and no matter it stayed there for no more than 5 seconds, it was opened - nerdie techie here (one of dayjobs was cell+/phones saleswoman very UNcreative), hairdresser on, a day or two to be left open/dry, keyboard is dead :/
so I need your opinion/experience, suggestions for smartphones:
android or not?
brands? not too pricey (almost all my cells till now were nokia, strong enough apart water…)
I’m an apple fan but thinking if going to have ipad, why having iphone as well you know (not that if I had an offer I’d say no lol)
